Sales channels

Tickets for BRB are available:

Automat
  • At our blue ticket machines at almost all BRB stations (available languages: geman, english, turkish and french). The ticket machines accept cash, Girocard (EC card), credit cards and contactless payment.

  • At one of our BRB sales points, for example on platform 30 at Munich Hauptbahnhof (Central Station)

  • Simply and conveniently by using our free app BRB - Tickets & Infos where you can pay by credit card or PayPal.

  • At our online store (only available in german) where you can also pay by credit card or PayPal.

  • Directly on the train with an on-board surcharge on the Munich – Rosenheim – Salzburg/Kufstein (not Munich – Holzkirchen – Rosenheim), Freilassing - Berchtesgaden, Traunstein - Ruhpolding as well as Munich/Augsburg – Füssen and Augsburg – Landsberg routes if you approach our passenger attendant right after boarding the train. Unfortunately, payment on the train is currently only possible in cash.

You can find the cheapest ticket at our blue ticket machines, app or in our online store thanks to our best price finder. Simply enter your start and destination and the machine, app or online store will do the rest. Select the right ticket and off you go.

Please note:

  • You must buy your ticket before commencing your journey.

  • MVV tickets (Munich public transport) must be validated (stamped) before you commence your journey. These small blue validation machines can be found on the platform or at the station’s entrance.

  • Tickets can’t be validated on the train.

  • Bicycles may only be transported on trains that are not overcrowded. Priority is given to mobility-impaired travellers and passengers with infants and pushchairs. A ticket is required to transport a bicycle. Visit our dedicated page for more information.

  • The penalty fare for traveling without a valid ticket works out to at least € 60. A repeat off ense may lead to a criminal charge.
